A specially-curated exhibit of photographs and multimedia images that brings together stories, memories, images, and a glimpse into the future of the Los Angeles Jewish Home in celebration of the Home's Centennial will open for public viewing on Monday, January 9, 2012 at the Home's Eisenberg Campus, 18855 Victory Boulevard in Reseda. Sarnat Symposium for Geriatric Care from 7:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2011. Now in its fourteenth year, the Sarnat Symposium brings together some of the most progressive experts in the field of geriatrics to share their insight, research findings, and experience with social workers and other professionals who care for seniors. Los Angeles Jewish Home Hosts Annual Resident Art Show

(RESEDA, CA - May 31, 2011) On Sunday, June 5, 2011, the Los Angeles Jewish Home will host its annual resident art show. The art show will feature one-of-a-kind pieces, created with love by the Home's residents. Items for sale will include paintings, silk screens, collages, and needlepoint. Knitted items, such as baby blankets, booties, and sweaters, will also be available for purchase. All proceeds will benefit the services and programs of the Home. Read more...

(RESEDA, CA – February 11, 2011) As people the world over prepare to celebrate Valentine’s Day with their sweethearts on February 14, the residents of the Los Angeles Jewish Home are sharing their thoughts on finding love later in life. Two couples – Dorothy and Harry, and Jeanette and Ira – participated in a video interview where they spoke openly about the importance of romance and intimacy in their golden years. All enjoyed long and happy first marriages and were pleasantly surprised to discover they could fall in love again – and enjoy a healthy sex life – even in their 80s and 90s! Read more...
Los Angeles Jewish Home Dedicated Torah for the Ages

(RESEDA, CA – February 7, 2011) On Sunday, January 23, 2011, the Los Angeles Jewish Home celebrated the completion of the Torah for the Ages project with the dedication of a Torah written exclusively for the residents of the Home. Residents Norma Linn and Shelly Balzac, along with Torah for the Ages co-chairs Reggie Scheer and Bob Hirsch, inscribed the last letters in the Home’s new Torah with the guidance of sofer (scribe) Rabbi Shmuel Miller.
